Independence

dress (Asos ON SALE $14...Seriously!!), chucks (Converse), watch (Nordstrom), Jacket (Jcrew old), ring (Lagos), bracelets (Kiel James Patrick & GAP), shades (Gucci), clutch (Monkees of Lexington), B necklace (Maya Brenner), ballcap (UK)
In an effort to get a leg up on the upcoming holiday, how about a little patriotic fashion?  Gang, I would be remiss if I didn't mention this dress is ON SALE FOR $14....oh you read that right...$14!  What a stinkin' steal!!  Even better than the price---the many combos you can create during and after the holiday.  I'm thinking a little denim vest or denim jacket with a POLKA DOT SUMMER SCARF.....Or switch the bottom half with Chucks, leopard ballet flats, or sandals!  Indeed an easy summer frock!  Y'all have a fantastic weekend, stay cool (scorcher here in the Bluegrass)..AND stay tuned for an upcoming GIVEAWAY!

Geek Chic

oxfords (Dolce Vita), jeans (Jcrew ON SALE!), shirt (Jcrew), belt & specs (ancient, not a clue!), ring ( David Yurman), bracelets (aqua: Adele of Lexington, Gap), bag (Jas M. B.H. Audrey, Nashville), watch (Michael Kors)
Can't think of a better way to channel my inner geek than with a fun little pair of cheetah oxfords!!
Also, in case you forgot, these hot pinkers had a recurring role in my Electric Avenue post...Love a repeat  offender!
Make it a good one, gang!

Fleur de Jour

jeans (Asos), blouse, belt (Jcrew),  shoes (Zara old), watch (Cartier), bracelets (Jcrew), clutch (Monkees of Lexington), ring (Lagos), nails (Essie Meet me at Sunset), shades (Gucci)
I will be the first to admit this rig on paper would appear to be an absolute train wreck!  Stripes, floral, red, purple, zippers, pearls, leather belt--goodness gracious!  But let's take note of the subtlety in the details.   Clearly the star of this show is the floral jean; therefore, everything else should complement it, not overpower it.  The purple pinstripe is faint enough to do just that.  Also, I am envisioning many combos with these jeans: Red silky blouse, chambray shirt, gray sleeveless tee with flat sandals, pink or pale blue check shirt, just to name a few!  Take a shot at pattern mixing if you have yet to do so...it's a perfect way to infuse instant personality into your look!

Scalloped

shorts (Lilly Pulitzer, Peppermint Palm, Lex KY), blouse (Jcrew), sweater (GAP), flats (Ann Taylor old), tote (World's Apart, Lex KY), necklace (Jcrew ON SALE!!), cuff (SABZ jewelry under $25!),  watch (Cartier), shades (Gucci)
A native Floridian not sporting Lilly Pulitzer??  Unheard of in my book!!  Thank heavens we Lexingtonians have the Peppermint Palm in our backyard to satisfy our Lilly cravings! Considering Lilly started it all   minutes from my hometown, I can't help but be transported to my childhood when sporting her fresh and fun frocks! And yes, we all know Lilly and Jack Rogers are a marriage made in classically prepster heaven; however, don't discount the adaptability of Lilly.  In my opinion, she looks just as darn cute paired with a little leopard, too!

Optical Illusion

dress (ASOS), cuffs (unknown, how great are THESE), spiked ring (ASOS),  booties (Via Spiga sold out), nails (Essie Meet me at Sunset), snakeskin clutch (Bloomingdales)
Appearances can be quite deceiving, eh?  Well, if slimming the waist and creating an hour glass figure is the end result--Lie to me, baby!  Stella McCartney put fashion trickery on the map this season with her optical illusion dresses.  If you'd rather not break the bank trying this trickster of a trend, ASOS has options galore at such affordable price points!  Thinking I may sport this tonight and see if I can pull a fast one on the hubs!  Y'all enjoy your weekend!

Skirting the Issue

skirt (Alice + Olivia old...super cute option Jcrew HERE), sweater and jacket (Jcrew), flats (Ann Taylor old, love THESE), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (Jcrew), shades (Ray Ban aviators), clutch (Monkees of Lexington), necklaces (Target)
Yet again another closet remix with this skirt...I'm on a bit of a roll, gang!  When you think about versatility in a garment, a word I believe to be critical when choosing a piece, a number like this fits the bill.  I have paired this striped lovely with a chambray shirt, a check blouse in pink or blue, a pink Tee and Navy Blazer, heels, flats, and sandals.  Popped it with yellow, orange, green, and pink....Truly, you can dress this pup up or down in a multitude of ways and undoubtedly make a statement!

Prepster

blouse (Jcrew) jean (Jcrew sold out, inexpensive option HERE or solid option HERE), sweater (GAP),  clutch (Treesje old, super affordable option HERE),  belt (super old school GUCCI), pearls (Target), bracelet & watch (Jcrew), shades (Gucci), flats (VIA SPIGA old)
May we discuss a couple of facts occurring in this Rig?
1.  many pieces have been in the closet for quite some time=closet remix=cost effective!
2.  in my humble opinion, I believe Navy to be one of the best and most versatile bang for your buck shades
(what other color anchors pink, green, and yellow all at the same time)?
3.  Definitely yesterday's news; however, get your hind to Target and raid their jewelry...these are just 3 measly pearl strands, that when combined, make a bit of a statement..and the best part...$11 smacks/strand!  I ransacked their jewelry and found if you double or triple up one piece...it's a goodin!
Needless to say, my wallet and my husband both are huge fans of this particular post!  Remember, just because it isn't new, doesn't mean we can't make it current!

Maxi-mize

dress (Pim + Larkin), sandals (Jcrew), shades (Ray Ban),  FLA & monogram necklace (Maya Brenner), anchor bracelets (Kiel James Patrick), starfish cuff (Sabz Jewelry ONLY $20!!!!), clutch (Monkees of Lexington)

It is no surprise that I LOVE stripes...I mean, heck, they make an appearance in many of the posts!  They're obviously nautical--my fave.  They're a good partner and foundation for pattern mixing.  They're classic and never go out of style.  They're fresh, modern, & clean.  Given the right width, they can be quite figure flattering.  They have an element of neutrality and can go with mostly anything.... I think y'all catch the drift!

Easy Street

top (TIBI, AJs Casuals Lexington), jeans (Joes), shoes (Kate Spade--options galore HERE),  shades (Gucci), watch (Cartier), clutch (Treesje, alternatives HERE or HERE),  bangles (Jcrew), ring (Lagos)
Black, white, and red all over!  At first glance, you may think this top couldn't be a versatile piece in your wardrobe...think again!  The pairings are numerous.....with yellow or blue skinnies. So darling with black leather shorts.  How about a black and white gingham print short or just regular denim skinnies?  The moral of the story, when deciding whether or not to purchase a piece, make sure she isn't a one hit wonder!!

Sunday Funday

shorts (Gypsy 05), Tee (Enza Costa), sweater & flops (Jcrew), shades (HM), tote (World's Apart, Lexington KY),
Sunday has always been my favorite day of the week.  Whether I'm lounging, beaching, poolside, bbq-ing, or family focused...it is the perfect day to recharge my batteries!  Luckily for us Lexingtonians, we've got a relatively nice day on our hands....think I'm going to hop on my cruiser (brood in tow), and hit the pool!  Hope y'all enjoy your Sunday!
