Mild Mannered

coat (Zara, SIMILAR on sale for $50), skirt & tee (J.Crew, LOVE this shade), shoes (Pour La Victoire), belt (J.Crew), necklace (BaubleBar/Atlantic-Pacific Collection), shades (Michael Kors), clutch (Treesje, DARLING option for spring), bracelets (J.Crew Voce on Clay), ring (David Yurman), watch (Michael Kors)
Mild temps in the Bluegrass yesterday & today!  And while it literally should be illegal to show my casper-like stems in public, I just couldn't resist embracing the 'warmth' sans the tights!  This look is certainly one that will transition perfectly into the spring.  Remember THIS THIS?  Just a little illustration of how we can sport the tweed & stripes moving into the warmer months (which let's face it--we got a ways to go)!

Little housekeeping note, per the advice of Jill, I (think) I have implemented a new 'comment' platform (I heard lots of issues with peeps not being able to comment on the old one, and quite frankly, I had difficulty replying, too) called Disqus.  Give it a whirl as I LOVE getting feedback from y'all and I do my best to reply accordingly (just know I read EVERY tidbit)!

Also, in cased you missed it--getting my purge action on and parting ways with my lovely Gucci Positano Tote, feel free to take a gander (and bid)!  Stay tuned as I'm feeling the need to cleanse my closet.  Alright gang, make it a good one!

Red Stems

dress (J.Crew extra 40% off), tights (Target--only $5), shoes (Plenty by Tracy Reese), necklaces (old as dirt, no clue--2 layered acrylic necklaces), bracelets (J.Crew & Stella & Dot), ring (David Yurman), shades (Gucci), watch (Cartier)
For all of you 9 to 5 gals like myself, this is the Perfect Dress for your day gig!  She also fits the bill for a ladies' lunch, meet the parents, church, or a daytime shower.  Toss her on with some tights or sans such once the weather warms, and you have an easy, yet polished, rig (it's quite comfy, too).  Make it a good one, gang!

PS:  if the Dress is not avail in your size online, call your local store & they'll do a store search to find it for you.  I do this all the time for items that aren't avail in my size online--works like a charm!
PPS:  the necklaces I'm wearing are old as dirt...disliked individually, but once I doubled the acrylics, all old was new again and they're back in rotation!  Lesson here, don't forget about your old pieces, just try to sport them in a new way!

Repeat Offender

pants (Citizens of Humanity), tee (Crewcuts), jacket (GAP, similar), vest (J.Crew), heels (J.Crew), clutch (Kate Spade), shades (Gucci), gloves (Target), watch (Tag Heuer), bracelets (Stella & Dot, Voce on Clay, Asos)
Offending repetitiously in a multitude of ways, gang.  Just sported these Pants Several Posts Ago (which was also shot in this same little nook of an ally) and then there's my love of this color combo.  Alternatively, we can look at this positively as a way to showcase another use of both these pants & palette.  Another little tidbid---this Baseball Tee, I must confess...it's a little boys' t-shirt from CrewCuts.  Here's the thing, I'm always in there snagging stuff for my girls (and myself quite frankly), and I love the kids' threads almost as much as the adults' (not to mention it's half the price of womens').  Well if you are, how shall I put this, not blessed in the bust arena, you can totally fit into their large sizes quite comfortably. I'm telling ya, sounds a little off, but the prices are right and their T-Shirts (and girls' jewelry) are adorbs.  Check out some of my faves below:

Camel Does Red

coat (J.Crew), blouse (Old Navy), jeans (Joe's Jeans, love THESE & THESE), shoes & belt (J.Crew), bag (Botkier), shades (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors),  bracelets (J.Crew & Voce on Clay), ring (David Yurman), necklace (Moondance, Santa Monica)
Let us not forget the power of the color RED.  It instantly took this outfit from zero to ten.  Be it on your lips, nails, legs, or feet, the color can add a vibrant splash that we all could use in these dreary months.  I like to tone her down with grays, camels, creams, & navy---all hues that allow the red to do its job--POP!  Y'all make it a good one!

Lady Liberty

jean (J.Crew), jacket (Ecote see alternatives HEREHERE, HERE or HERE), blouse & tee (J.Crew), shoes (Matt Bernson), shades (Gucci), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (Crewcuts courtesy of my daughter, J.Crew)
Famous for its signature floral pattern, I have long been a fan of Liberty Art Fabrics.  It's the ultimate in femininity.  With that being said, I believe you have to know how to balance such a print.  At first glance, these skinnies may seem a bit loud our overwhelming; however, I believe them to be just the opposite.  I took it up a notch with a stripe but chose to anchor it with some bold black & the utilitarian jacket.  How easy breezy would the Liberty's look with a chambray or a navy crewneck sweater?  Y'all have a lovely weekend--I have a GNO on deck tonight with some of my fave gals--much needed!  Make it a good one!

The Everyday

blazer, tank, belt (J.Crew, LOVE these alternatives), jeans (DL1961), oxfords (Dolce Vita ON SALE), bag (Louis Vuitton), bracelets (J.Crew,  AsosStella & Dot), earrings (J.Crew), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci), scarf (LoveQuotes), ring (David Yurman)
If there was a rig I could sport everyday, this would be it!  Classic & comfy, the blazer/tee/jeans combo never fails and looks good on anyone.  The beauty of it, too, is you can mix & match this combo endlessly.  Remove the scarf & toss on baubles or how about nix the oxfords and throw on some heels?  Replace the tee with a button down for a more proper feel (all buttoned up with a splash of color perhaps).  It's tried, it's true, it's here to stay. Y'all make it a good one!

Spotlight: Good Life

all images courtesy of  Good Life

Let's meet Jill, shall we?  Classic. Fresh. Effortless.  The lovely mother of two behind the successful blog, Good Lifeknows what works for her and stays true to it while doing so beautifully.  And you know, I just love that about her!  A classic beauty (she makes me want to grow my hair out--I want a sock bun, dangit) with relatable style, Jill brings such an ease to her rigs that reminds us, well me really, it doesn't need to be overly styled to be chic.  She believes regardless of budget or lifestyle, all women can feel confident & pulled together with a little inspiration.  How great (and true) is that?  It bears mentioning, the girl will also give you one hell of a fashion collage--seriously, she gives accessible editorials for a slew of occasions. So with all of the above being said, go take a gander at the Good Life, no doubt you'll be happy you did!
A big thanks to Jill for allowing me to share her loveliness over here on s + s.   Get connected with her via TwitterFaceBook, & Pinterest.

PS:  Did y'all see my Pastel Palette from yesterday?  Make sure to give it a look for a little Spring teaser.  Make it a good one, gang!

Pastel Palette

jeans (DL1961 in Mayhem), shoes (Pour La Victoire), shirt & cardi (J.Crew old, Love this color choice, too), necklaces (BaubleBar/Atlantic Pacific collabo HERE & HERE), clutch (JJ Winters), shades (Gucci), bracelets (J.Crew & Adele of Lexington), watch (Michael Kors)
I couldn't help it..I just couldn't help it!  I broke the Spring Seal, gang....you know, where we all try to put spring vibes out there by dressing as such even though the temperature is supposed to plummet this week, and we technically still have over 2 months left of winter!  What with all the mags teasing us with lighter but vibrant palettes and mother nature spiking into the 60s this weekend--it's just all sorts of unfair I tell you!  I will do my darndest to stay the course and focus on the season at hand, but I'm not making any promises!

Two quick notes regarding closet staples--Jeans & a Nude Wedge--I'm apologizing in advance for the heavy rotation that will undoubtedly ensue with these two numbers.  I've been clocking both of these lovelies for a bit now and can I just say they did not disappoint one single bit!  I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my denim and I have so many of the same two brands that I barely ever stray...I'm so very happy I strayed!  These DL1961s are serving up the perfect amount of stretch & distress--just love 'em.  And as for the nude Pour La Victoire's, they cut over the toe just so and lengthen the leg with their perfect shade of nude--loveliness!  Alright kids, you all enjoy a relaxing Sunday and hopefully soak up this break in the weather!
