Black & Blue

jeans (Paige Denim c/o Morton James, Lexington KY), jacket (BB Dakota, see similar HERE), tshirt (J.Crew, Similar), flats (Sole Society c/o), shades (Michael Kors), tote (Michael Kors), cuff (Morton James, Lexington KY), watch (Cartier), bracelets (Sylvia Benson c/o), ring (Lagos, Anna Beck)

A color combo I've loved for quite a bit now---black & blue.  These PERFORATED FLATS kinda set the tone for the rest of this rig.  There's just something very clean and modern about the combo and not to mention, it's pretty classic as well.  I've touted my love of the Edgemonts HEREHERE, and HERE, rest assured this denim version I snaked from Morton James in Lexington is no exception.  I've had them for two weeks and I've easily worn them five times if not more (Exhibit A & Exhibit B).

Alright gang, I'm off bright and early to Columbus for work so I need to scoot---friendly little reminder to check out the Better Homes & Gardens Blogger Awards.  Yours truly is nominated under the Fashion/Beauty category, and considering sister is up against some very well deserving heavy hitters, sure would love and more importantly appreciate your support (sidenote, you DO NOT have to post to your FB page, simply hitting the VOTE button does the trick--you can do it on the daily like I force my family to do)!?&^%   Thanks for stopping by--make it a good one!

Here We Go Again

jacket (Zara, see sale option HERE), boots (Sorel  love THESE and NEED THESE SUCKERS), beanie (Fred Segal, see similar HEREHEREHERE), jeans (AG, hole accidentally created by moi), gloves (Target DIY'd, how 'bout these quirky mittens), shades (Ray Ban)

Come on now, Lexington, you didn't actually think last week's weather would last now did ya?  Of course not, this is the Bluegrass--where we are teased every Feb/March with warmer temps only to be blasted by an ice/snow storm the following week.  Had a little white dusting this morn so as much as I was actually hoping to tuck this look away in the archives, figured I might as well let 'er rip.  I know we're all in the mindset of stocking our spring wardrobe right now, but may I suggest we take advantage of the sales going on for winter wear.  Perfect time to stock up for next year--and while this Puffer isn't on sale technically, the price is def right and I can vouch for it--worn it to death this winter (obsessed with the high neck and zipper deets).  And if you don't own a pair of Sorel's, hop to it--they are undoubtedly my fave--plan on snagging another pair for next year indeed!
Alright gang, enjoy your Wed--make it a good one!

A Cozy Sunday

scarf (Zara love THIS), jacket (GAP, see similar HERE), sweatshirt (Current/Elliot), chambs (J.Crew), denim (AG, hole accidentally made by yours truly), sneaks (Sam Edelman, but then there's CAMO), bag (Michael Kors Bedford), shades (Ray Ban), rings (David Yurman, Lagos, Anna Beck)

If I could wear a rig like this every day, I would.  Crazy cozy, pulled together, and a little bit of FUN is just my kinda look.  An avid SNEAKER FAN for quite some time, I'm quite thrilled sneaks are all the rage this spring (although even if they weren't, I'd totally still sport them on the regular).  In the market for a new pair?  How fantastic are THESE--yes, yes, yes!
Hope y'all are having a lovely weekend--mine has been one of my fave kinds chalked full of this & that.  While the little ladies were with their dad, I had some good girlfriend time, good eats, outside reading time, sleep and a solo movie--my definition of a perfect weekend alone--wrapping it up with some brunch with a dear friend!  Y'all make it a good one!

Knits & Leather

sweater (Gap), skirt (Tinley Road, Piperlime love THISTHISTHIS), blouse (J.Crew), clutch/wallet (Merona, Target), heels (Zara), shades (Ray Ban), watch (Cartier), rings (Lagos, David Yurman), lip (Sephora Always Red)

Sure this skirt would look lovely & polished with a Silky Blouse, but I am personally digging the whole chunky vs sleek thing going on here.  Still quite polished but with a bit more comfort and ease.  I have had these dang Cage Shoes since late last year and was not NOT going to sport them with this little number--it called for just a slight bit of edge and these suckers definitely fit the bill!

Alright gang, totally unlike me to solicit support, votes, etc--but I'd be remiss if I didn't ask for a little love.  Better Homes & Gardens nominated s + s for their annual Blogger Awards for fashion & beauty--if you're feeling up for it, sure would appreciate your support--voting is a cinch HERE.  Sincerest thanks in advance--Make it a good one!

Everything Old is New

denim (F21 old, see SIMILAR), shirt (Gap, men's, see SIMILAR), cardi (Old Navy, see SIMILAR), belt (C. WonderNEED THIS), loafers (C. Wonder), necklace (Hazen, Adele of Lexington), rings (David Yurman, Lagos, Anna Beck), bag (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci)

Couple points--I've definitely broken the Spring Seal.  You know, where we all subliminally try to persuade mother nature to bring the warm weather by wearing clothes that aren't quite ready to make their spring debut, as if our wardrobes are the catalysts to warmer temps--yea right.   I, like everyone, am damn near sick of the frigid temps.  So yes, there may be snow in the background, and I may be freezing my hind off, and this may scream spring, but I just couldn't help myself.  And I'm thinking it may have worked because ole' Lex is having a warm spell this week with temps up to 55--hot damn!
A second, more relevant point--majority of this look is pretty darn old with the exception of the necklace from Adele (quite smitten with the piece).  Yellows last seen HERE.  Striped men's shirt last seen with some tomboy flair HERE, and the belt & loafers were sported HERE.  So while yes, fingers crossed, we are on the brink of a new season, and we are all tempted to stock up on new threads, don't forget to recycle your 'mature' goods.
Lastly, I have to give a most sincere thank you to Southern Living.  I received an email last week that about stopped me in my tracks---Southern Living named yours truly one of the 75 Most Stylish Southerners.....beyond humbling, exciting, wild--you name it--and in insanely good company to boot (think Billy Reid & Kendra Scott)!  Thank you, truly.  Alright gang---make it a very good one!

Sweats & Sneaks

sweats (Target in stores, love THESE SWEATS, TOO), tshirt (Gap see similar stripes HERE), jacket (BB Dakota, similar leather HERE), sneaks (Nike ON SALE), scarf (HM c/o, COWL VERSION), bag (Michael Kors), hat (J.Crew ON SALE, adorable SPRING VERSION), gloves (Target DIY)

What is there to say about this rig other than stating the obvious---sucker is crazy comfortable!  And while I love a head to toe casual look, y'all know I had to add a slight dose of polish with the scarf and a leather jacket.  Just a little something to pull it all together.  One last finishing touch to amp up the sweats, a RED LIP, kinda love that it's not an obvious pairing and ups the ante a bit. Check out some other sweats below. Alright gang, y'all have a great start to your week....make it a good one!

Valentine's Stripes

sweater (Talbots c/o 25% off), jeans (JBrand), heels (J.Crew), coat (J.Crew), gloves (Target DIY), bag (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci), lip (Sephora Lip Stain Always Red)

Wore this little number out for din with some of my fave gals 'round town (McKayla, Sis, Mandy--unfortunately sans Tingle).  Further proving my point from Yesterday's Post that while hearts, love, red and the like are def seasonally appropriate, you can certainly sport them for many occasions.  Love the idea of pairing something quite girly like this Sweater with more tomboy, relaxed fit Denim.  In my personal opinion no denim looks better with a heel than boyfriend fit--I just love the opposition of the relaxed vs feminine.  Need a few more ideas for the upcoming date night this Friday, take a gander HERE and HERE.  Alright gang, make it a good one!

A Relaxed Valentine

scarf (Talbots c/o 25% off), shirt (Gap, love these HEART PATCHES), denim (current/elliot), coat (J.Crew ON SALE), sneaks (Vans), bag (Michael Kors), shades (Ray Ban), lips (Sephora Always Red)

Considering my Valentine's Day will consist of a raging soiree with my little ladies and their best gal pals, I'm thinking a casual look such as this will def fit the bill.  This rig would totally work if heading to the movies, casual din, or over to a friend's house to celebrate.   And while this week is the perfect week to sport some hearts on your sleeve, I'm not opposed to doing it year round.  Take a gander at some of my fave heart lovelies below.  Y'all make it a good one & enjoy your week--more Vday looks coming up this week!

Simply Scarves

Got a great bit of feedback from my Leo Round Up, so I figured I'd give y'all another round of one of my faves.  I honestly have to say I don't think any of these rigs would be half as good without a cozy scarf.  Perfect for these ridiculously cold months but also as we transition into the spring---the scarf is def one of my fave accessories.  I truly have absolutely no particular way of tying them other than to just wrap the hell outta them around my neck and fiddle with the ends until they're just so, probably not terribly helpful, but Pinterest definitely has some great tutorials. Check out some current scarves I'm digging below. Alright gang, I promise to be back to the norm outfit post routine next week--KT and I snapped some goodins' yesterday so we'll be back in the saddle for sure!  Make it a good one!
